I will be attending Trine in the Fall and it is by far the best college I have visited, and I have visited many. The admissions staff was one of the most welcoming as well as the student guides. The professors are very animated and just fun in general. I hope you have as great of an experience as I have! They are also adding many new buildings and making it much more modern!

-Trine University does a great job at presenting itself to the public and has created a great image for itself. The University is very student-oriented and has been growing over the past few years.

- A lot of the students at Trine grew up in a small town or are from a rural area, so there can be times when it feels very "country". Take that as you wish.

Working with the staff and administration has gone smoothly so far. My son took an online summer course which also went well. Overall, I believe Trine will be a great school for him and he will enjoy his four years here. He's already meeting lots of new friends as the school isn't too large and overwhelming.

- Trine's Employment Resource Center is thriving with alumni connections to large and small companies. The men and women who work there are extremely passionate about helping students further their career.

In regards to negative comments previously made by others, students will always find something to complain about, no matter how small or large the problem may be. I visited 10 other schools (large and small) and would not have it any other way. If you plan on attending school just to party and go out on the weekends, then Trine isn't going to be your cup of tea. If you're going to school to get a quality education, meet genuine people, and enjoy your time, then you're in luck.

I am a current second semester freshman and on the track team here at Trine. I'm quite the social person and go out on the weekends and I'll be honest (like most complain about), the gender ratio here is very poor. Due to a high school focus on engineering, quite a few students aren't awfully social. If you're social enough, don't worry about it.

Great school. Gorgeous Campus. Intense greek life.

As a junior- year, chemical engineering student, student-athlete, resident assistant, member of Greek life, I think that I have a very broad perspective on what life at Trine is like. I have lived in both dorms and apartment style living. I know what great work the employment resource center does (i'm currently on co-op in the area). I understand that the small student to professor ratio is extremely important to student success (IF the student wants to succeed). I know the great memories and connections that Greek life can bring to people. I have done my best to aid international students as an RA and help them transition in and integrate into trine's culture.

- It is difficult for international students due to the language barrier which impedes integration. Most other students will not go out of their way to take the time to get to know international students unless they live with them. I, as an RA, tried my best to make sure that everyone was included.

- Coaches, trainers, and teammates understand that classwork comes first. Yet, you are still expected to make up anything that you miss (which is expected).

Best of luck with your decision, Trine would be a great one!

- Professors are not supposed to be pushovers or your best friends, they are supposed to create a welcoming environment that is conducive for learning - which they do a great job of.

Academics here are some of the best in the nation and most firms from Indiana are quick to hire Trine University graduates. (Side note: a fraternity brother of mine was hired in CA for being a Trine grad)

Greek Life here has so much influence. I never saw myself joining a fraternity until I got here, for there's so much that comes from it. From the combined fraternities and sororities alone, I can't even tell you an exact number of philanthropy events that are held. Just know it is a lot.

This has been one of the worst times of my life. They lured me in with this small schools are better mentality and their 98% job placement, but the teachers were garbage, and it was a "good ol boys" sort of school where they wanted you to know someone to get anything. It's incredibly over priced, and they nickel and dime you on everything from over priced textbooks (some can only be bought on campus such as the physics lab manuals) to parking permits (that don't always guarantee you a spot). I regret coming here, and it is too late to change anything since I graduate in about a year and a half.

-The apartment style living is very nice. Not what you would expect from a college campus. The dorm style living is traditional to what you would expect from a college campus. I preferred the apartment style living, but that's just me.

As a parent of a new Trine student & football player, I can tell you that our experience so far is far from the last reviewer. I'm only giving it 4 stars only because he hasn't even started class yet, I can review again later. Yes, we were shown the new apartment style living and our son is living in the old style dorm, not a big deal. He can change next year if he chooses!

- Greek relations at the school (like many universities across the country) are always under the microscope and face scrutiny no matter what. However, the alumni relations , networking opportunities, memories made, and overall Greek atmosphere on campus is amazing.

I hope that helped clear up some confusion.
